This is not a portrait of a happy couple. These are the portraits of the roles they got and my own relation to them. I reposition them and stage the shots. I ''shoot'' them from behind. The role of dominance is turned upside down. This works questions the authority and the hierarchy between the parents and a child and their relations. There is certain harshness in the forced distance. The result is a subtle appearance of their own identities visible in two unconscious gestures. We can see them in the gesture of my father's hand and in my mother's gaze. The work plays with the complex set of emotions and conventions making us question the representations of the identity roles of parents and a child.
